Great week with Greater Vision

We concluded our week with Greater Vision Baptist Church with more high energy Vacation Bible School evenings with the kids. Wednesday evening included a life-sized Pac Man game that the kids (and the adults) all had a blast playing. The kids and Pastor Daniel’s energy levels all week were contagious and helped towards making a great week.

Door hangers were also distributed throughout the surrounding area and there were a few visitors as a result. There was even a new visitor on the Sunday morning following VBS as a direct result of these efforts. Speaking of visitors, the kids had a competition for bringing guests along with them to VBS and there was also a penny war between the boys and girls. The girls ended up being the winning team which meant Pastor Daniel had a whip cream pie smashed on his face by his wife at the end of VBS.

Thankfully, the weather at the end of the week cooperated with cooler temps so the kids could conclude the VBS week with some outside activities, including some water balloon wars. The final mad dash was held, giving all the kids a chance to grab some snacks, drinks, and candy.

Following VBS, we were able to enjoy some wonderful fellowship time and share some homemade pizza with the Hancock and Pearson family. For us, being able to have this encouraging time with these families was a huge blessing. We certainly understand how much of a challenge starting a new church plant is for Pastor Daniel and we were blessed to be able to help.

Below are prayer requests that Pastor Daniel shared with us for his family and Greater Vision Baptist church:

  • Prayer for his children’s growth in the Lord
  • Prayer for new converts and those that are on the fence with their decision
  • Prayer for new converts become an active part of the church
  • Prayer for continued fruit from the door hanger effort
  • Prayer for Pastor Daniel and his creativity to engage his kids and messages aimed towards youth in the community
  • Prayer for Greater Vision in the community and their current building they are using

Our time with Greater Vision Baptist was incredibly encouraging and we are already making plans on how we can help them grown upon this first VBS for next year. Being part of such a young church gave us some great insight on areas we can help similar churches in the future. We look forward to seeing what growth God brings to Greater Vision and look forward to partnering with them in the future.
